I Survived... The Government Shutdown

It's been a while since I have updated this blog.  After recent events, I felt the need to come put some of my thoughts out there for the world.  I just spend 2 weeks at home, without pay, while the Federal Government decided on FY14's funding and the debt problem. 

I was almost going out my mind trying to find things to keep me occupied.  I will say, I got to watch a lot of my favorite show on Netflix - The Office.  I also was able to beat Resident Evil 5 on XBox 360.  I touched up my cooking skills by trying new recipes nightly, and even looked into applying for school. 

The Shutdown was a few things for me - needed time off, an unpaid vacation where I traveled nowhere, time to take care of a few personal tasks, and a test of my sanity.  I'm glad the House and Senate came to their "agreement", at the last hour, lol. 

That's all I will say about that.

Here is a slideshow I stumbled across of Lil Wayne's 15 Most Memorable Sneaker Moments. Dude has CRAZY kicks! I love it. I always know he's going to give me a show. There's even talk that he may be coming out with his own shoe design pretty soon. We'll be on the lookout for that! I'll keep you posted.

Nike "Galaxy" Hype

I think this "limited" release stuff Nike is doing is outrageous.  They will make their money regardless!! Why make it so hard for the countless SneakerHeads out here (myself included) to get their hands on sweet releases?  The violence brought about from these limited quantity releases should be an eye opener in itself.  People are getting shot, stabbed, and who knows what else! I'm going to get off my soapbox now, but c'mon Nike! Do Betta!!

Response to Nicki Minaj "Roman in Moscow"

I am writing this as I listen to Roman in Moscow, by Nicki Minaj. This song was released in Dec 2011, I don't know why I haven't heard it yet. I am totally anticipating Nicki's new album, Roman Reloaded! I love the Roman Zolinski character. Ok, time to press play and see what I think about this song.

So far, I'm happy that she's going hard on the track. I'm a fan of fast-paced songs. Ok, she does that dragging her words out thing in this song, too. Not as aggravating because she does it in a lower tone than usual, lol. She dares any female rapper to come out (after her, I guess). Nice. She knows she is on top of the female rap game right now. I'm nodding my head to this beat. The producers did they thing on the track.
Like how she ended the song, "Roman's back, b**ch!" Nuff said!!!
